This is a post about bride Imogen’s silk organza off the shoulder bespoke wedding dress.

This post combines work in progress images from Imogen’s fittings, as well as some shots from the actual wedding itself. This helps show the process involved in having a bespoke wedding dress or outfit created by me, for you.
The images from fittings that I show here are quick snaps originally taken for the bride’s and my reference, so they’re not posed in any way. They become useful afterwards to show the process, even though not originally taken for a blog post.
Initial fitting

In Imogen’s first fitting I cut a toile with shoulders and then cut the off the shoulder neckline into it as shown above and below. The toile is a rough cut at this stage as it invariably needs alterations.

2nd Fitting

At the 2nd fitting I have draped the neckline in calico. I choose a lightweight calico as it behaves in a similar way to the organza that the dress will be made in.
Later Fitting

In the above and below studio shots the dress is almost complete. Imogen has chosen very long sleeves so she could wear them pushed up. This adds to the gentle folds and undulating effect of the organza elsewhere in the dress.

I like to put wedding dresses on the dummy for the bride to see before she tries it on. It helps to show features of the dress without the bride actually wearing it and focusing on herself in the mirror. That comes next:

The wedding day has arrived!
Below are some lovely images of Imogen’s wedding by photographer Louise Adby.

Doesn’t she look amazing? What I love about Imogen’s silk organza off the shoulder bespoke wedding dress is the simplicity and femininity of the design. There’s nothing over the top about it, she just looks perfect!
